Five Crowns Capital is, before anything else, a family.
Behind it are two people who spent their careers building companies, and who have turned that experience toward building something more lasting. We are not financiers by training. We are operators who learned, over a long while, how wealth is really made — and then set out to keep it working long after we step back.
We made our way as operators — founding companies, growing them through the hard middle, and selling them — most recently building businesses through a venture-studio model that turned operating work into ownership. A quarter century of that taught us where income on the labor side reaches its ceiling, and why the next chapter had to be different.
Five Crowns is that next chapter: the deliberate work of converting a lifetime of effort into capital that compounds on its own. The labor built the foundation. The capital is what carries it forward.
Nakisha Guzman leads Five Crowns as Managing Director. She has been integral to everything we have built, and she sets the direction and the discipline of the family’s capital today.
Ray Guzman is a Partner, bringing the operator relationships and market judgment — built across healthcare, finance, and the Nashville ecosystem — that shape what we choose to own.
The work is meant to outlast us.
We are stewards more than owners. What we hold, we hold for those who come after — to pass on, intact and still compounding, long after our part is done. The name carries the rest of the meaning, and those who know us will understand it. Five Crowns is, in the end, a promise to the next generation: that the work of building was never only for ourselves.
